The Waring Pro PC200 wine cooler looks very nice and it is compact. Unfortunately it only looks good, it makes such a noise that is like having a fan 10 inches from you head. Super noisy. It does a good job if you place it a closet. I like the independent temperature setting. To summarize: good idea and style, poor job on the noise level. Returned to the store :(

Not Only Noisy...Jan 01, 2010
By Insomnelier Sounds like a rock crusher, but that is partly a concession to cooling two bottles simultaneously; the heat has to go somewhere. The cooling times stated were rather optimistic as well, even given the caveat in the instructions. A standard champagne bottle will not fit in mine. Placing a thermometer into a cork, and measuring the actual temperature reveals that the liquid inside can be considerably warmer than the temperature setting after the machine says that the cycle is complete ("Enjoy"). It measures the outside of the bottle, and then uses some figure to account for the bottle-to-contents gradient. Wrong number. It will eventually get there. It is quicker than the `fridge, maintains temperature fairly well during consumption, and does not use ice and/or water. Useful, but value for money is not particularly good.

noist lil suckerMar 27, 2009
By R. F. Crickenberger This was given to me as a gift so I cannot return it. It is so noisy that I cannot even keep in in the same room with me. Do not buy this chiller unless you plan to keep it in a closet or the garage.

By Anabella This item is ridiculous because you don't find out until you have purchased it that it takes one hour and 15 minutes to cool a bottle of white wine from room temperature. That is about the time it would take if you just put it into a cold refrigerator. A complete ripoff in my mind.
