it muddlesNov 09, 2007
By Gene M it does it's job.
You can't make a Mojito without one.
I love it but found it to be a bit too short for my shaker ( my fat fingers keep hitting the top of the shaker )so I ordered a longer one too, that should not take anything any from this well made muddler.
It is comfortable and makes mashing the mint easy.
PS... don't forget the splash of bitters in your mojito's ... it's really makes a difference.

Come in for a muddleDec 28, 2007

"If you can't win, change the rules."
This is just great.
It looks like a work of art, with the brushed stainless and matte black plastic tip.
Very functional, too!
The black tip is plastic to keep it from scratching up the glass (or shaker), and has bumps to catch and hold the items to crush.
The stainless handle is hollow, which you could probably guess, but has no seams, weld marks or other imperfections. It basically looks like it was carved out of a solid block of stainless (only the lighter weight gives it away).
Very high quality, and inexpensive too. If you've been using wooden spoon handles, you'll love this.
Highly recommended.

Great MuddlerMay 24, 2007
By Jason J. Mccoy Purchased this strictly for making Old Fashioned's. I was a little concerned with not getting a wooden one since all the bars I go to use wooden ones. This muddler works great. The spikes on the bottom completely crush the sugar cubes and the muddler works great. Looks good too.

Not Long Enough.Aug 28, 2008
By V While it's excellent in all other aspects, it is just too short for a usual boston style glass tumbler, or a collins glass, or a pint glass for that matter. It's good for a rocks glass but I don't do much muddling in that kind of glass.
The macerating end does its job well when it can reach what you want, and I have found a use for this in crushing tomatos for bruschetta. (Saves cleanup from a food processor or blender.)

Mojito Madness!Dec 14, 2007
By Jeff If you make Mojitos you MUST have a muddler. There's no other way around it.
I started with a wooden muddler, but it started stinking after a few uses. Sure, it only smelled like rum & lime, but was bacteria living in the wood as well?
This Swissmar muddler is well made and balanced correctly for hand use. It makes quick work of the cane sugar and mint leaves. It cleans well in the dishwasher, and is small enough to take on road trips.
Mojitos Rule!
