Great purchase, pretty gift setJul 26, 2010

I purchased six sets of Pearl Freshwater Cultured Potato Black Necklace 9.5-10.0mm 17" and Earring 9.5-10.0 mm Gift Set By Bucasi and one set of these pink potato pearls, to be given in the avocado rose colored Jewelry Roll (Small) - Silk Brocade as presents for my bridesmaids and groomswoman. This set is going to the groomswoman, and I think it's the loveliest of them all. The pearls are nice and heavy in your hands, and the pretty flower clasp looks super cute. The color is just gorgeous and rich. I can see someone wearing them with the clasp on the side, to show off the flower detail, which would make this necklace look a little younger and more casual. Overall, it's a really nice, hip set, and a lot more modern-looking than your standard Jackie-O pearls. I also really liked the box that this set came in. It's orange and red, with a nice "snap" when it closes, even though it's just hard cardboard. Much nicer than the silver boxes in which the black/silver pearls came. Once I took the earrings out of the little cheap-o looking plastic bag, the set looks like it cost way more than it did, and it's the only one for which I'm considering actually presenting it in the gift box. Shipping was fast and I had the pearls within a day or so.
I am really allergic to low-quality jewelry (as are a few of the bridesmaids), so I wore one of the black pearl earring sets for a few hours one night to make sure it didn't cause me any reactions. It didn't make me itch at ALL, so I was very pleased with the quality of the metal used in this set.
As for customer service, I didn't receive one of my sets of the black pearls, and after contacting Amazon I IMMEDIATELY had a full refund for that set and an extremely polite apology email from a customer service rep. Just another reason why I buy just about everything I ever need on Amazon.
Very happy with the transaction, price, color, and look of these pearls. Might even buy a set for myself at some point. At this price point, I can probably see myself getting them in multiple colors.
