My daughter is a bird person. She has 5 parrots of various sizes and is crazy about anything having to do with birds. She is a real "parrothead." I also built her a tiki bar with a real thatched roof which she keeps in her family room. Her tiki bar is always open to guests whenever they drop by. One thing she doesn't have for the tiki bar is a cocktail shaker. So, I searched Amazon.com (my favorite on-line store) to see if I could find a good one to give her for Christmas.
I ran across this penguin shaped shaker which really looked cool and would fit in with her interests. I ordered it and it came really fast. This is a fantastic product. Very good quality. To anyone interested in this shaker for themselves, the penguin head is not made for pouring. It might look like you could pour through the beak, but this is not the case. The penguin head comes off and leaves a spout for pouring. The spout has a filter in it so that you can pour your drink and leave the ice behind. If you want to pour ice and drink into your drink glass, you can remove the shaker lid altogether and pour it all into your glass.
This is a quality shaker. I am thinking of buying one for myself even though I already have a shaker for my own home bar. This is really a conversation piece if you like to make mixed drinks at home. It is sure to please your friends.

Fun shaker. Gets the job done and doesn't leak. Its made of nice heavy steel so its easy to clean. The only drawback is, as described by previous reviewers, you cant pour out of the beak. Its a shame, it would take this shaker from nice to amazing.

You'd think at first that you can pour the contents out of that huge beak using the handle, but in fact you have to take the head off to pour the contents. It does make mixing a SlimFast shake together a snap (which is why I bought it)--maybe 10 shakes instead of 30 like with smaller cocktail mixers! Also mixes two generous drinks at a time instead of one like smaller models. Too bad its pieces don't seems to fit together as nicely as other models or it'd be perfect.

The recipient of this gift had nothing but good things to say about it. Not only did it amuse, but apparently the feet are very stable and the beak pours perfectly.

Gave this penguin to people who have many parties and like to entertain. It was most enthusiastically received. They told me that the penguin sits proudly on their black granite counter top and it is both utilitarian and decorative.
