been shopping for replacements for some nice big bowl Schotts which had fallen by the wayside (generally with a crash) over the years and spotted these
they're (xxl Burgundy)even bigger (taller and more capacity) than those punchbowls, but the balance is excellent and given the thinness of the bowl seem durable (already whacked one soundly against the faucet while washing and no worries)

These were rated "best value" by the Wall Street Journal several months back so I've been looking at them for awhile. Received for Christmas and the base of one of the glasses was chipped. The packaging by the manufacturer was poor and Amazon didn't pack it tightly either, so I planned on returning for another set of 6. Amazon was great. I received an email within 2 hours of making return arrangements online and Amazon noted there was no need to return the original glasses received and they would express ship a new set of 6. The glasses themselves are awesome! They are a great weight, good stemsize and great size bowl for swirling and drinking.

The Nachtmann Vivendi Bordeaux Glass is the same glass as the Riedel Vivant Bordeaux wine glass. Here's what WSJ wine columnists Dottie Gaiter and John Brecher had to say about it:
Riedel 'Vivant' Bordeaux - Envision a classic wine glass and this looks like it--elegant, symmetrical and tall. All-purpose shape. Lovely glass that doesn't call attention to itself and lets wine show well.
I bought the "damaged box" version which made this purchase a very good deal as five of the Nachtmann glasses were about the same price as two of the Reidel's.

"Queen of Kelp"
These glasses are fabulous! I love the Riedel wine glasses so when I was looking for some glasses for my husband for Whiskey or Vodka drinks I found these tumblers. They are perfect. I thought they might be too fragile, but they are not. They have a fairly heavy base which gives them a nice weight. Riedel has done it again! Love these glasses!
